Some companies hand out certificates. Others send a group email. At Next Target, when it’s time to celebrate performance, we go bigger.
This summer, our top-performing interns swapped office hours for Main Street USA on a well-earned trip to Disneyland. The reward wasn’t just about rides and snacks, it was about spotlighting the hard work, energy, and commitment these interns brought to the table every day they stepped into our Santa Ana office.
Over the past few months, our summer interns have been in the trenches of real-world sales and marketing. They’ve helped launch campaigns, engage customers, and analyze growth strategies, all while building core skills and soaking up one-on-one mentorship from our leadership team. The Disney day was our way of saying: we see you, we appreciate you, and your results don’t go unnoticed.
At Next Target, recognition isn’t reserved for executive titles or long tenure. It’s built into our everyday culture. When people show up ready to compete, grow, and contribute, those efforts are acknowledged, whether you’re two weeks into your internship or two years into your career.
The interns who earned their tickets to Disney did more than hit KPIs. They led by example, kept the energy high, and brought a solutions-first mindset to whatever challenges came their way. And if you ask any of their team leads, they’ll tell you the same thing: these were the people who consistently went above and beyond. The trip was a celebration, but it was also a message, this is what excellence looks like, and it gets rewarded.
Our internship program is designed to be more than just a summer stint. Interns at Next Target aren’t sorting files or sitting in silent meetings. They’re part of the team. They speak with customers, collaborate on strategy, and get direct mentorship from our veteran staff. We expose them to the same environment that drives our full-time professionals, a fast-paced, high-accountability atmosphere grounded in teamwork and winning together.
And it works. Interns leave our program not just with resume lines, but with real outcomes: improved communication, better sales instincts, and a stronger understanding of how to succeed in dynamic professional settings. But even the most driven interns need feedback and encouragement to stay motivated. That’s where culture steps in.
By celebrating success visibly and meaningfully, we send a powerful message. Recognition doesn’t need to wait for a promotion or a full-time contract. It starts now. It starts when you show up prepared. It starts when you challenge yourself to exceed expectations.
Trips like this Disney day are part of our broader belief that building a powerful team goes hand in hand with building a positive environment. We set high standards, and we expect our people to rise to the occasion, but we never miss a chance to celebrate when they do.
The result? A team that’s not just talented, but united. Interns develop real friendships during the summer, and experiences like this deepen the sense of connection that lives beyond the workplace. A shared rollercoaster ride or churros break may sound small, but it’s in these moments that teams turn into tight-knit communities.
At Next Target, success isn’t limited by age or title. When someone steps up, we take notice. And when a group of talented interns makes a mark like this summer’s cohort did, they don’t just get a thank-you, they get a ticket to Disney.
Because around here, hard work doesn’t just matter. It leads to the next big opportunity, and sometimes, a little magic, too.
